Today’s T20 World Cup 2024 match: Pakistan take on Canada; head-to-head record, New York weather forecast

Pakistan face a do-or-die situation in the 2024 T20 World Cup when they face Canada in a Group A match at New York’s Nassau County International Stadium on Tuesday. Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, are coming on the back of consecutive defeats to USA and India, and because of that, their chances of qualifying for the Super Eight stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup look quite slim.

Canada, on the other hand, have also played two matches, winning one and losing one. They began with a seven-wicket defeat to co-hosts USA on the opening day of the tournament, but followed that up with a spectacular bowling display to beat Ireland by 12 runs. A win for Canada against Pakistan will keep their hopes alive, whereas a defeat for the Men in Green would mean they will all but be eliminated.

For Canada, Nicholas Kirton and Shreyas Movva have been their most impressive batters so far, but they would hope for a much improved, clinical display against a Pakistan side who will look to improve on all departments.

Even Pakistan’s batters have been below-par this tournament. Barring Babar Azam and Shadab Khan, a majority of their batters have failed to step up, but with time running out, it will be imperative that the others step up.

Pakistan’s bowlers were clinical against India and would hope to continue with the same kind of form. Haris Rauf returned with figures of 3/21 and so did Naseem Shah, whereas Mohammad Amir (2/23) and Shaheen Shah Afridi (1/29) were also among the wickets.

This is the only match of the day on Tuesday. The match is scheduled to begin at 8 pm IST on Tuesday, which is 10.30 am local time.

Pakistan vs Canada head-to-head
