Tim Hortons, popular Canadian donut and coffee shop, to open in Blue Springs

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. (KCTV) – A Canadian staple is making its way to Missouri, taking over what used to be a Burger King.

Tim Hortons is first and foremost a coffee shop, with standard syrup flavors including caramel and mocha alongside the more unique cookies n’ cream and cookie butter. Its donut holes, known as “Timbits” are infamous, coming in packs as large as 40.

According to the chain, it has over 5,500 locations across 13 countries and 4,000 shops in Canada alone.

Soon, Missouri will join that total with a Tim Hortons of its own in Blue Springs, tentatively set to open “in late 2024, early 2025.”

The franchised shop is taking over what was, until very recently, a Burger King. Under the former restaurant’s circular sign, a new banner reads “Tim Hortons: Coming Soon!” Otherwise, there is little happening at the site.

When asked for comment on the new location, Tim Hortons responded with the following statement:

“We are happy to announce that we are targeting to open a Tim Hortons in the Blue Springs area in late 2024, early 2025. The location will be at 1128 NW Woods Chapel Rd, Blue Springs, MO. It will be a freestanding drive thru and one of our first locations in the greater Kansas City area.” – Tim Hortons

The building is located off Woods Chapel Road near I-70 in Blue Springs, Mo.
