The Toronto Raptors play host to the San Antonio Spurs at the Scotiabank Arena on Monday night. Here’s a Raptors vs Spurs Prediction.
San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs have been in terrible form as they’ve lost 13 of their last 16 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a seven-game slide after getting routed by the Nets in a 123-103 road defeat on Saturday. Victor Wembenyama led the team with 21 points, Keldon Johnson added 19 points off the bench while Devin Vassell chipped in with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Spurs shot just 39 percent from the field and 11 of 34 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep pace with the Nets early, scoring just 18 points in the second quarter to fall behind going into halftime. Things only got worse in the second half where the Spurs trailed by as many as 28 points in another blowout loss.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in a real funk as they’ve lost nine of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting thrashed by the red-hot Cavaliers in a 119-95 loss on Saturday. Scottie Barnes led the team with a triple-double of 24 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists, RJ Barrett and Grayson Dick scored 14 points each while Immanuel Quickley chipped in with 10 points and four assists. As a team, the Raptors shot just 40 percent from the field and nine of 31 from the 3-point line as they struggled to contain the Cavaliers early and were always fighting an uphill battle after trailing by 20 points going into halftime.
Raptors vs Spurs Prediction
The Spurs are still missing Charles Bassey and the newly acquired Marcus Morris, while the Raptors are still missing Markquis Nowell. The Spurs just can’t buy a win these days and they are coming into this one fresh off another blowout loss and you could say the same about the Raptors who had no chance against the Cavaliers in their last outing. I’m not comfortable laying this many points, but the Raptors should be good enough to get past this slumping Spurs squad.
