Canadian Sprinter Antoine Sauve Selects Michigan

NEW COMMIT: The University of Michigan has received a new verbal commitment for Fall 2025 from Canadian freestyler Antoine Sauve of Mont-Royal, Quebec.

He will join William Siegel in Ann Arbor as a member of the Wolverines’ Class of 2029.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Michigan! I would like to thank my family, friends and everyone who have helped me get to where I am today. GO BLUE!”

Sauve does his club swimming with Club Aquatique Montréal and most recently swept the 50m/100m/200m free at the Canadian Speedo Championships. Back in September, he finished 15th in the 200m free at FINA Junior Worlds before going on to earn bronze in the 100m free at Ontario Junior International in December.

In LCM, his best times include:

  • 50m free – 23.08
  • 100m free – 49.51
  • 200m free – 1:50.59

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 50 free – 20.07
  • 100 free – 43.16
  • 200 free – 1:36.74

Sauve also represented Team Canada at the 2024 World Championships in Doha, Qatar, this past February. He swam on the 4x100m free relay that placed 11th.
